Macon, Georgia

In another post – 2009: A Retrospective – I mentioned the 2009 Macon Film Festival and meeting James Kicklighter, an accomplished film maker, who I’m sure is going to hit it big, however he chooses to define that term.

Just one beautiful park in Macon.

He’s only 21, and he’s already written, produced, or directed four different films. Check him out at JamesKicklighter.com.

And check out one of his latest shorts The Car Wash, which stars Edith Ivey from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I think The Car Wash is a beautifully done movie. What makes the movie even more remarkable is the budget. Like most beginning film makers, he didn’t have unlimited resources, and still the movie is beautiful. Really, check it out.

As I already mentioned, I met James at the 2009 Macon Film Festival. What I didn’t mention is that I fell in love with Macon. And with Georgia.

Macon is such a genteel city. Wonderfully warm people and such gorgeous homes. If I had the money – If I Had a Million Dollars – I’d buy a place in Macon.

Can’t wait to get back.
